Selecting a Campsite

Selecting a campsite:

When reserving a campsite, you're going to be asked a number of questions about the equipment, or RV you plan to use.  All the specs for each RV can be found by clicking on the RV at the top of the page. Some campgrounds are tight while others may have an open field type layout. Since all our travel trailers are 35+ feet in total length, plus a 20ft truck, please be mindful of maneuvering in and out of campsites and campgrounds.

Site length is important.

  • For example, if you decide to rent the Sprinter 316BIK, you'll need a minimum site length of 31 feet. Some campgrounds account for parking space as well.  If your campsite does not fit the camper, it cannot be delivered.

Full hook-up is required.

  • "Full Hook Up" is defined as Water, Sewer and Electric. Which means all three amenities are available at that individual campsite.  50amp electric is preferred.*   If you plan to reserve a non full hookup site, please contact us and we will try to make it work.

*The Jayco and the Open Range require 50amp hook-up in order take advantage of the dual A/C zones. 30amp will work, you'll just have a single A/C zone

Pull thru vs. Back in.

  • A pull thru site is typically a bigger site with more room. It also allows the driver to "pull thru" when arriving making things 100 times easier, and much appreciated!
  • A back in site is just that, the driver has to back in to the site. These sites tend to be a little more private, but also more difficult to reserve due to demand.  Some back in sites have obstructions like trees, other RVs and phone poles. These can inhibit full extension of slides and/or awnings. If you plan to book a back in site, it is highly recommended to call the campground and ask about any obstructions.

Internet.

  • Most campgrounds have free Wi-Fi.  If good internet is a must, we recommend calling and finding out which sites are closest to the Wi-Fi routers.

Being near a bathhouse has it's benefits.

  • Picking a site near a bathhouse is great if you love long hot showers. Most RVs are equipped with small, 6 gallon hot water tanks so the hot water runs out quick.
  • Most RVs have one small bathroom. With large families it's nice to have an open bathroom nearby and not have to worry about the holding tanks.
  • Bathhouses and the surrounding area are typically well lit at night, which could be a plus or minus depending on your preferences.

Check-in times.

  • Every campground is going to have a specific check in time. Check in times may be different for rental companies like ours vs renters like you. If a campground has a check in time for 2pm, that doesn't necessarily mean your camper will be ready for 2pm. RV set up typically takes about an hour, and the rental check in process takes about an hour as well. If we can't get in the campground until 2pm, your RV won't be ready until about 3pm.  You are more then welcome to hang out during the set up process, it's just going to take us longer.
